Plastic Little Review

There are a lot of silly OVAs from the late 80s to early 90s. While not every one of them is of the type of high quality you’d want out of an anime in terms of production and narrative quality, you get a sense of nostalgia from watching them. Even if you never grew up during the early 90s, at least for me. I’m only at the tip of the iceberg during my journey, watching many OVAs that became ever-present during its golden era. I decided that Plastic Little would be the one to start it off.

Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia Review

Anime’s approach to fantasy is unique among other mediums. The Fate series itself is singularly unique among the fantasy genre in anime. I’ve reviewed previous Fate anime, so I do not feel it is necessary to go over the whole Fate oeuvre here. While I don’t think the mythological or historical aspects of the characters in the series impressed me with how they treated them in the story, I have always enjoyed the action and some of the dramatic facets they put into it.

Queen’s Blade Rebellion Review

When you look at something like Queen’s Blade Rebellion at face value, you do not immediately think “cash grab.” Or at least you hope to god that it is not. Then while you are watching it, it is very clear that the situation’s reality is clear; it is exactly what you feared it might be. A complete, nothing cash grab with no soul or style to speak of.

Queen’s Blade: Utsukushiki Toushitachi Review

Calling this a 3rd season would be a stretch. Think of this OVA continuation as: “Here are six OVAs detailing how all the characters have gone about in their journeys after the previous season.” That is what we are dealing with in a nutshell. That is not to say this is a bad thing necessarily. But to put it out in just six episodes seems a bit fruitless and disappointing going into this. It is hard to evaluate this OVA without going over each episode, so that is what I will be doing through the remainder of this review.

Queen’s Blade: Gyokuza wo Tsugu Mono Review

When your tiddie anime has more depth within its plot than most non-tiddie anime in the past ten years, you know you got some problems. Well, okay, that might be a bit hyperbolic on my end. Nevertheless, when your expectations aren’t exactly that high for an anime of this genre that usually ends up falling flat on its face, you can’t help but commend it for sticking out above the rest.
